The Waalitj Hub Business Coaches will be responsible for providing expertise across one or more business areas to help clarify the viability, objectives and goals for Indigenous Businesses as well as partnering with clients to develop the necessary skills, and acquire the right resources, to run a successful enterprise.

The successful applicant will be the face of Waalitj Hub providing the first point of call for clients and partnering with them throughout their business journey. 

These positions are full-time, fixed term positions (until June 2025), offering extensive training opportunities and support to the successful applicants. Consideration will also be given to applicants who would prefer a part-time position.

Senior Client Engagement Officer – North Metropolitan TAFE.

Within the role as a Senior Client Engagement Officer (Industry Liaison) you will work with industries and employers to implement strategies and assist them to develop and increase their Aboriginal workforce through recruitment, retention, and skills development. Additionally, the position will develop and maintain stakeholder relationships including the Aboriginal community, service providers and Aboriginal organisations.

Within this role you will provide advice to the TAFE on current and emerging skills needs of industry and business. The position also encourages employers to provide apprenticeship/traineeship and other work opportunities to jobseekers and graduates.

Assessment Officer, Foster Care – Yorganop.

As an Assessment Officer you will be responsible for completing a range of assessments in relation to child protection. This includes but is not limited to assessing potential foster carers and kinship carers from EOI through to registration and training. You will undertake annual carer reviews and assist the Senior Placement Officer with advice on potential placements.
The purpose of the Assessment Officer role is to facilitate and complete the assessment and review process of foster carer applicants and to ensure the process is undertaken in accordance with legislative requirements and the organisation’s standards and procedures.
In addition to carer and kinship assessments the Assessment Officer may be required to complete a range of assessments in relation to other child protection or family support activities and services delivered by Yorganop.

Transition Coach – Yorganop.

As the Transition Coach you will guide, mentor and support young people aged 17-21 years to transition from out-of-home care to independent living and adulthood.
This will include: Applying a cultural lens across client/case management practices, implementing cultural learning practices specific to the program, including mentoring and advising other coaches. Providing access to supports and resources that will be made available through an extension of care arrangement, offering tailored support services using a culturally safe and strengths based approach to case management and case coordination and working collaboratively with relevant stakeholders including the Department of Communities’ Child Protection staff, foster families, carers, the young person’s kin, community, and people identified as significant in their lives.

This position liaises, advocates and negotiates with Aboriginal communities and health professionals within St John of God Healthcare and other community and hospital environments.
